The society can help all family historians living in and around Berkshire - wherever your ancestors came from. It should be one of your early contacts if you have Berkshire links too. You are always welcome at any of the six meetings held each month - in Abingdon, Bracknell, Newbury, Reading, Windsor and Woodley. You can get further practical advice by visiting the society's Research Centre in Reading (next to Berkshire Record office). Besides FindMyPast and Ancestry Library Edition, you can access a range of online datasets and CD publications. You might benefit from Berkshire Name Search too - a master index of names from censuses, parish register indexes, out-of-county strays and other miscellaneous sources. And you could browse the library catalogue for topics of interest before dipping into a collection of more than 7,000 items (just 20 per cent of which are Berkshire related). You could also drop into one of the advice sessions provided every month by society members in some of the county's libraries. At the show you will be able to buy a selection of the society's publications, including the newest CDs - among them parish registers and the latest BERKSHIRE BURIAL INDEX(8th Edition). You can check all available titles on the society website.
